We do not support celebration of June 12 as Democracy Day- Simon Ekpa
According to the Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, the Southeast’s population has nothing to do with Nigeria’s Democracy Day celebrations.
According to the separatist group, May 30 is actually the official public holiday and day for such celebrations in Biafra land.
Simon Ekpa, the group’s prime minister, made this announcement in a statement on Monday.
He remarked that May 30th is the only official holiday.
Ekpa encouraged Biafrans to carry on with their enterprises because the Biafra independence declaration’s goals are being achieved.

He said those who were annoying Biafra would not succeed.
“In Biafra Territory, public holidays in Nigeria are no longer observed as official national holidays. We were only able to identify May 30.
“We look forward to the official national holidays upon declaration of the restoration of Biafra Independent,” he stated. “Biafrans will continue to observe international holidays.”
According to Obasanjonews.com, a sit-at-home order was implemented on May 30 to remember those who lost their lives during the Civil War, which took place between 6 July 1967 and 15 January 1970. As a result, the entire Southeast was placed under lockdown.
