The President said that after his eight-year term in office, he would have time to engage in activities like caring for cattle, one of his favorite pastimes.

On Wednesday in Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his gratitude to the State House personnel and his ministers for their assistance over the last eight years.

The President, who will cede power to Bola Tinubu on May 29, expressed pride in the work he and his administration did for Nigerians.

The President praised all of the ministers at the Federal Executive Council’s (FEC) farewell meeting in the State House Council Chamber for their dedication to advancing the administration’s objectives and urged support for the future leader.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Femi Adesina, the President was reported as stating, “I am proud to say we gave our best.”

The President gave the ministers instructions to finish their job promptly and prevent any last-minute scrambling that may jeopardize the good acts they had accomplished over the years.

We have had several disagreements throughout the course of our years working together, from our newest team member to the team’s oldest members over the last 7.5 years. I implore us to recognize that those stances were taken for the sake of the group as a whole, and no one should harbor grudges or continue to hold onto these divisions.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), which gave us the opportunity to stand up, must continue to receive our support in any way we can, he said. “For those of us that will not directly be in government, of which I am one, I ask that we continue to provide our support, in whatever way we can, if called upon by our great party,” he said.

The President said, “I also thank God for the strength and for keeping us together. I attribute all the good work and goodwill received by the administration to God’s intervention.”

“I will also be glad to do the various tasks I have been unable to complete since May 29th, 2015, including my favorite activity, caring for my cattle.

I expect to hear good news anytime any of our names are mentioned and wish us all the best. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria and thank you, he said.
