In a statement, agency spokesperson Peter Afunanya warned that the secret police would utilise all of their resources to foil such a conspiracy. He said that the secret police had identified some of the plan’s major participants.
Nevertheless, in response to the development, the Labour Party’s spokesman stated that the party is not planning any rebellion and referred to it as a conspiracy against the government.
He declared on Channels Television’s Lunch Time Politics on Thursday that “We are not a part of any rebellion plots whatsoever.”

“But, what I’m saying is that we would defend and protect Nigerian security forces as we would safeguard the interests of the Nigerian people in accordance with the law’s provisions, which provide that you have the right to protest if you’re being victimised. We would act in that fashion, but we would not in any way promote an uprising.
Willing To Obey The Law
In the 2023 elections, he said that the DSS and other security organisations failed to uphold the interests of the Nigerian state, alleging that some of the party’s followers had been denied the right to vote in several regions of the nation.
He continued by saying, “The DSS and the security services should come out and defend us even if we are on the streets protesting.” He insisted that the Labour Party is not enlisting supporters to fight on the streets.
He asserts that LP would adhere to due process while resolving its complaints and won’t take any actions that are contrary to national laws.
