On Tuesday, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will hold a hearing to discuss cases of fraud and irregularities that were discovered during the WASSCE this year.
Tuesday morning, WAEC tweeted the news from its X account.
The examination organisation tweeted: “The 76th Meeting of the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) to consider & decide on the malpractice/irregularity cases arising from the conduct of WASSCE for School Candidates, 2023 begins today.”
Recall that the WAEC had initially announced this year’s WASSCE results in August, but the publication of 262,803 results was delayed due to alleged exam fraud.
In the meantime, Dr. Amos Dangut was just named the new Head of National Office (HNO) at WAEC.
Dangut served as the HNO’s deputy registrar before to being chosen to lead the council.
