Voletta Wallace, Mother of Notorious B.I.G., Passes Away

Voletta Wallace, the beloved mother of late rap legend Notorious B.I.G., has passed away. Her legacy in preserving Biggie’s memory and contributions to hip-hop culture remain unmatched.
Voletta Wallace, the mother of the late American rapper The Notorious B.I.G., has died at the age of 78.
According to the Monroe County Coroner, she passed away from natural causes on Friday morning in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
Voletta Wallace was best recognized for overseeing the estate of her son, Biggie Smalls. He stood as a leading hip-hop icon of his time until he tragically lost his life in a drive-by shooting at age 24 in 1997.
At the time of Wallace’s passing, it was reported by TMZ that her son’s estate had grown to an estimated $160 million, a significant increase from the $10 million valuation at the time of Biggie’s death.
Her passing occurred months after her startling remarks about Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is presently incarcerated and awaiting trial on multiple charges, including rape.
In 1993, Christopher Wallace, known as Biggie, became the first artist to sign with Diddy’s label, Bad Boy Records.
