Violent Protest in Abuja: 4 Arrested for Burning Police Facility

According to the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, protesters caused a fire that destroyed its container compartment at Abuja’s Nyanya checkpoint on Thursday.
The above information was included in a statement signed by Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer. The said statement has been released to Obasanjonews.com for dissemination.
Contrary to reports circulating in certain circles about the incineration of Nyanya police division, the declaration refuted such claims as untrue.

The FCT police command clarifies that reports of violent protests burning down the Nyanya division are false. Instead, it was a container compartment at the Nyanya checkpoint and an attempted vandalism of Tipper garage Police post by four suspects that occurred.
CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni – the FCT Police Commissioner recognizes residents’ right to protest but disapproves of damaging public or police infrastructure and warns that anyone arrested for such violent actions will face legal consequences.
