Nigerian actor, Samuel Ajibola, has disclosed the reason behind his departure from the popular soap opera, ‘The Johnsons.’
The talented actor, known for his portrayal of the character Spiff, a comical fool in the soap opera, explained that he made the decision to pursue his own dreams.
According to Ajibola, leaving the television series allowed him to establish himself as a producer and director. In a recent interview with Channels TV, he shared his perspective:
“For nine years, I dedicated my time and energy to ‘The Johnsons,’ investing in someone else’s vision. Even before my departure, I had already begun working on my own project, DAILY Issues, which showcases my comedy skits. This venture commenced in 2016.
“I wanted to build my own brand and emerge as a successful producer and director. There came a point where I felt the need to take a bold step and step out of my comfort zone, despite the fact that everyone recognized my achievements.
“I needed to leave because I am naturally an adventurous person and a risk-taker. I was fully aware of the risks involved, but I followed my instincts, and to this day, I have no regrets.
“In fact, leaving ‘The Johnsons’ has allowed me to rediscover myself and redefine my identity as a producer and director.”
