Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has expressed optimism that the Tripartite Committee on the minimum wage is nearing a consensus.
He stated that the committee will soon reach an agreement on a new national minimum wage. Following a productive meeting on Friday, Uzodinma emphasized that the committee has made significant progress and is close to reaching a complete agreement.
He further explained that the committee has concluded their unit meetings and is now moving forward to the plenary session, where they will harmonize their decisions and determine the final figure.
It is worth noting that amidst ongoing negotiations, there are indications that the new minimum wage could range between N60,000 and N100,000.
