According to sources cited by Axios on Saturday, the US and Israel are still getting ready for a significant strike in response to Iran’s retaliation over the killing of Hamas as well as Hezbollah leaders. The attack is expected to commence next Monday.
Gen. Michael Kurilla, the leader of US Central Command, reportedly made a prearranged trip to the area with a primary objective of rallying global and regional forces similar to those that successfully safeguarded Israel from an earlier significant Iranian assault in April 2021, say two anonymous US officials.
In recent days, the Middle East has experienced escalating tensions following Iran’s accusation of Israel’s involvement in a bombing that killed Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
