US government directed to cease erecting barriers along the border
Federal officials are not permitted to cut concertina wire that is set up to prevent illegal aliens, according to a Texas judge.
In an effort to stop a record-breaking number of illegal aliens from entering the US, Texas installed razor wire along its border with Mexico. A federal court judge in Texas has decided that the administration of US President Joe Biden is no longer permitted to remove or cut the wire.
In a decision made on Monday, US District Court Judge Alia Moses in Del Rio, Texas, granted the state’s request for a temporary restraining order against the federal government. Attorney General Ken Paxton of Texas filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration last week, claiming that substantial portions of the state’s concertina wire were taken out by federal officials using heavy gear in order to enable “mass entry” of undocumented immigrants.
The court judgement on Monday was hailed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott as “another win for Texas and our border mission.” “Biden created this crisis and has tried to block us at every turn,” he continued. The use of floating buoys by the state to prevent migrants from crossing the Rio Grande River is also the subject of a legal dispute with the federal authorities.
In order to address the border crisis, the state government has sent National Guard troops and erected border barriers in areas where immigration is a problem, such as the Eagle Pass crossing. On the basis of state trespassing charges and other criminal statutes, Texas troopers have arrested a number of illegal migrants and bussed thousands of them to Democratic-controlled cities like New York and Chicago.

But the restraining order is only the state’s short-term triumph. It is only valid till November 13 unless it is renewed. November 7 has been set aside for the case’s next hearing. Moses decided that US Border Patrol officials can only break the razor wire in cases of medical emergency in the interim.
Republican-controlled states who want to fight the border crisis instead of the federal government guarding the border have filed legal challenges against the Biden administration. The federal government is in charge of enforcing immigration rules, but Paxton has maintained that Texas has the “sovereign right” to erect border walls. In addition, he maintained that when the border wire was taken down, federal officials were breaking the law by damaging state property.

Since Biden assumed office in January 2021, the number of people entering the US illegally has increased to all-time highs. The government’s most recent fiscal year, which concluded on September 30, saw over 2.48 million illegal aliens apprehended by Border Patrol agents, an increase of 4.1% from the previous 12 months. In contrast, during the final full fiscal year of President Donald Trump’s administration, which concluded in September 2020, there were only 458,000 documented illegal border crossings.
