Unpopular Muslim remark: “You’re expired drug,” Charly Boy tells El-Rufai
Famous Nigerian performer Charly Boy has criticized Nasir El-Rufai, the outgoing governor of Kaduna State, over his recent contentious remark regarding religion.
El-Rufai claimed in a viral video that he and other northern governors had used religion as a political weapon to help Asiwaju Bola Tinubu win the presidency in 2023.
The choice to use religion as a political tactic, in his opinion, was made to help address the problem of tribalism and religion in Nigerian politics.
Concerned Nigerians warned the former governor against starting a national fire because of his statements, claiming that he is a religious bigot. The statement had caused outrage throughout the nation.
Similar to how Charly Boy attacked the previous governor on Thursday, Charly Boy referred to him as an outdated drug on his official Twitter account.
The tweet’s subject line reads, “This tiny microchip of a man named El-Rufai. There is no reason to continue acting as though you want Nigeria, the country you have so blatantly taken from, to advance.
“Pretending that you are a real Muslim or even just a Muslim at all is foolish. You are a toxic drug that undermines the nation’s togetherness.
