When the Cross River Police Command acknowledged the kidnapping in a Monday interview with newsmen in Calabar, they indicated that actions have been made to ensure his release.
Although the family did not report the event, the command’s spokesman, SP Irene Ugbo, stated that “we are working to secure his release.”
According to Mr. Effiong Eyo, the institution’s spokesperson, the university was informed of the kidnapping on Monday morning.
The don was reportedly swept away by the shooters over the river that overlooked the staff housing at the institution.
It was learned that they entered the state via the same river that links Calabar and the Akpabuyo Local Government Area.
