The United States has issued an updated list of countries eligible for its 2025 Visa Waiver Program (VWP), featuring some significant changes.
In an unexpected development, the United Kingdom has been excluded from the program; however, its citizens may still qualify under certain conditions. In contrast, Romania’s inclusion on the list represents a noteworthy update.
Nonetheless, African countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa continue to be excluded from the program.
The U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs states that the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) permits citizens from qualified countries to visit the United States for tourism or business for a maximum of 90 days without requiring a visa.
The agency announced that travelers are required to obtain a valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval before traveling and must fulfill all the requirements detailed below.
“If you would like a visa stamped in your passport, you can still apply for a visitor visa.”
The Visa Waiver Program for 2025 has introduced updates regarding permit eligibility, revised the list of participating countries, and implemented new travel policies.
