Replicating the 2020 Beirut blast was apparently one of the British-developed strategies.
According to information obtained from leaked documents and publicised by the independent outlet Grayzone, Kiev’s 2022 deal with former British military intelligence officers who organised Ukraine’s drone attack on the Kerch Bridge.
Since April of last year, the Odessa office of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has been home to a “cabal of British military-intelligence freelancers” directed by Chris Donnelly, according to a report by Grayzone released on Wednesday night. After the first attack on the Crimean Bridge in October 2022, the publication had published stolen documents demonstrating their partnership.
Regarding Monday’s drone attack, which left two people dead and a 14-year-old girl orphaned, The Grayzone previously stated that a review of leaked materials “provides a solid basis for once again blaming Donnelly’s cabal.”
A “senior intelligence officer and former senior NATO advisor,” Donnelly is mentioned. He is supposedly employing a “transnational nexus” made up of organisations like Prevail Partners and Thomas in Winslow to administer “London’s contribution to the proxy war at arm’s length.”
According to Grayzone, the two businesses inked a “technical support” contract with the SBU’s Odessa branch in April 2022 that included the deployment of surveillance drones to “monitor coastline and Russian movement” and access to satellite imagery to support military and covert activities.
The SBU was given a presentation by a Prevail “geospatial intelligence” expert titled “Kerch Bridge info pack,” in which different plots to destroy the bridge connecting Crimea to the Krasnodar Region on the Russian mainland were detailed.
According to Grayzone, “One speculative plot involved detonating a vessel containing ammonia nitrate directly under the bridge.” The explosion in Beirut in August 2020, which left at least 214 dead and completely destroyed the Lebanese capital, was “approvingly cited as an example to emulate” in the plan.
The British advisors, according to Grayzone, have also helped Kiev target alleged “Russian collaborators” in areas under its control. In October 2022, a representative of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry by the name of Anton Gerashchenko claimed to Western media that the intelligence community was “shooting them like pigs.”
