Duke Udi, a former midfielder for the Super Eagles, is supporting Jose Peseiro to guide the group to continental championship in Cote d’Ivoire the following year.
Peseiro has been under fire after the Super Eagles’ dismal performances in their last few games.
The Eagles struggled to a draw in their FIFA World Cup qualification matches against Lesotho and Zimbabwe in 2026.

This sparked additional demands for Peseiro’s dismissal, although Udi is in favour of the Portuguese manager staying in control of the group.
“A coach shouldn’t be fired too soon just because he drew two games.” The former Shooting Stars star told BBC Sports Africa, “He has not lost.”
“We remain on track to compete in both the World Cup and the Nations Cup.” It can happen anything in Ivory Coast.
The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations will be place in Cote d’Ivoire from January 13–February 11, 2024.
Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and Cote d’Ivoire are in Group A with the Super Eagles.
