In Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League match, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti’s team prevented Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen from wrecking against them.
The second matchday contest at Estadio Diego Armando Maradona was won 3-2 by Ancelotti’s team.
In the first half, Osimhen had a goal-bound header deflected away by Kepa Arizzabalaga after winning the penalty that led to Napoli’s opening score.
However, the 24-year-old was unable to score during the contest.
The seasoned tactician claimed that he designated two players to track the striker throughout the match.
“We wanted to be two against one with him (Osimhen), the central defenders did very well and didn’t give him any space behind them,” Ancelotti said at a press conference. “Against Osimhen, it’s difficult not to suffer, especially on aerial balls, but we did well.”
In the previous season’s UEFA Champions League, the Nigerian scored five goals for Napoli.
However, he has yet to score a goal for the Serie A champions in this league.
