Alexis Mac Allister, a midfielder for Liverpool, is reportedly expected to miss his team’s Premier League match against Manchester United on Sunday at Anfield, according to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
On December 6, Mac Allister was trodden on by a Sheffield United player, cutting his knee.
The Argentina international continued to play for a few minutes until Klopp made the decision to replace him at the hour-mark.

But it appears that the player’s bone was also affected by the tackle, which is keeping him out of action.
Mac Allister will not play for Liverpool on Thursday night in the UEFA Europa League. He was absent from Liverpool’s 2-1 Premier League victory against Crystal Palace on December 9.
At his pre-game news conference, Klopp stated that the 24-year-old will not be available for Liverpool’s Europa League meeting against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise. Klopp also mentioned this in relation to the Man United match.
“We have this injury now, but I never had it for one of my players before,” he stated. I hope it doesn’t take too long; I’d prefer to say it’s day by day. However, it appears that Mac might be able to play in the upcoming match between Liverpool and Manchester United, but he won’t be prepared for it either.
“Thus, I’m hoping he takes significant steps over the next three or four days, and then we’ll see.”
