UCL: Havertz Stopped Me From Scoring My First Hat-Trick – Saka
Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka reveals that teammate Kai Havertz prevented him from scoring his first-ever hat-trick during their UEFA Champions League match, sharing his thoughts on the game and team dynamics.
Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has expressed his disappointment at being denied his first hat-trick for the club due to an intervention from Kai Havertz.
Saka netted two goals as the Gunners secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Monaco at the Emirates on Wednesday evening.
In the 88th minute, the 23-year-old had an opportunity to complete his hat-trick when he directed a shot towards the goal.
Although the shot could have been saved by the goalkeeper, it took a deflection off Kai Havertz and found its way into the net.
“He got in the way of it,” Saka remarked about Havertz with a chuckle, “but don’t worry, it’s [a hat trick] coming. It’s on the way.”
Arsenal’s remaining two matches in the UEFA Champions League are against Dinamo Zagreb, both at home and away to Girona.
