All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains in Anambra State have decided to cooperate in order to win the state for the party in the state’s 2025 gubernatorial election.

They both spoke over the weekend during the ceremonial presentation of Senators Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah and Uche Lilian Ekwunife to APC members in Anambra.

Ubah announced his switch to the APC last month after leaving the Young Progressives Party (YPP).

After receiving the two senators, Chief Basil EJidike, the APC chairman in the state, praised President Bola Tinubu’s leadership abilities and asked for greater dedication from the party’s members.

In reference to the possibility that the APC may win Anambra in 2025 thanks to the newcomers, Ejidike stated: “We have the resources and manpower to accomplish this enormous achievement if we so want.

We will have another chance to run for and win the Anambra State Government House in 2025. Let’s strive together as a family to make this happen for our celebration.

“As your defining characteristic, I implore the new members to never waver in maintaining your unwavering and upbeat humanitarian spirits. We implore you to give the celebration twice as much of this innate spirit.

“With no doubt, the APC will give you the means to take this to the next level. I promise to always support and work with you in all of our interactions. Please know that there is ample room in the party for everyone to pursue their political goals.

Chief Ejidike stated that he would be happy when he saw the party’s flag flutter in the Government House in Awka in 2025.

During his speech, Ubah declared that the APC’s wait to seize Anambra was over.

“The APC will no longer remain silent in Anambra and act as though nothing is wrong when it is. Anambra State has finally welcomed the APC.

“Anambra State has lagged behind in national discourse during the last 20 years of Nigeria’s democracy.

We should now relocate to the centre. I have no problem debating anything with anyone. We shall all stand for the debate when it is time.

“I want to make sure that Anambra State receives all of the advantages that come from the federal government at large,” Ubah continued.

Ekwunife, for her part, expressed gratitude to the party’s members for embracing her and her throng of fans and pledged to back the organisation in every way.

She called for harmony and peace among APC members in the state, stating that the party is now poised to take the reins in Anambra State.
