The UAE has announced a 2-month amnesty period for expired visa holders, providing a grace period to renew or settle their status without penalties.
Aimed at assisting visitors who have exceeded their visa duration, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has launched a two-month program for amnesty visas.
These individuals are given the option to either formalize their residency status or return to their home countries without incurring any penalties as part of the initiative.
The objective of this scheme is to provide assistance to individuals who have overstayed in the UAE upon visa expiry. This encompasses both inhabitants and tourists whose visas are no longer valid, alongside minors born in the country without proper residency permits.

The Head of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security – Maj Gen Suhail Saeed Al Khaili states that the amnesty presents an occasion to those who have violated laws to rectify their status. Doing so will enhance UAE’s position in terms of human rights matters.
The program goal that he underlined was to facilitate individuals in acquiring their rights, departing from the country safely or residing and working suitably within UAE.
The amnesty is available at different places across the Emirates.
