In their Group A match against Egypt on Wednesday at the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, Flying Eagles head coach Ladan Bosso believed his squad was fated to defeat Egypt.
The seven-time winners got their season off to a poor start, losing 1-0 to the Senegalese Cubs.
The Flying Eagles might be eliminated from the competition in the group stage if they lose to the Young Pharaohs.
Furthermore lost would be the team’s chance to compete in the Indonesia 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Bosso stated that his lads are well prepared for the challenge at hand and will give it their all in their upcoming match against the Egyptians.
Even though the morale was down after the first game, Bosso told reporters, “I want people to know that the spirit is very high; we as coaches have to raise the spirit of the players.”
It was even better that we lost at the beginning than lose in the end, in my opinion. I don’t think losing the first game is something that cannot be changed.
At six o’clock Nigerian time, the game will begin in the Cairo International Stadium.
