Tyla has spoken out against the bullying of Miss SA finalist Chidimma Adetshina, condemning the harassment she’s faced.

After receiving scrutiny over her nationality, Miss South Africa finalist Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina withdrew from the competition. Tyla, a Grammy-winning singer from South Africa, has spoken out against the bullying that took place towards Adetshina.

In July, Adetshina found herself at the centre of a nationality dispute when she advanced to the round of 16 in the Miss South Africa beauty pageant. As a model with both Nigerian and Mozambican roots, her national identity was called into question.

Despite being a Top 11 Finalist, she withdrew from the competition due to allegations made by the South African Department of Home Affairs that her mother may have committed fraud and identity theft.

Expressing her disappointment, Tyla stated that she was saddened by the severe treatment inflicted on Adetshina. According to her, the model was subjected to bullying which ultimately forced them out of the competition.

Tyla expressed her disappointment on Adetshina’s withdrawal from the competition through X by sharing a report and wished her luck saying, “Although disheartened with this news, I’m rooting for you girl. Crush it!”

“Regardless of any opinions, I will always support South Africa. However, what I do not condone is the act of bullying that she had to endure.”

Miss Universe Nigeria has extended an invitation to Chidimma Adetshina, but there has been no response from her yet.
