Two Suspects Remanded for Alleged Armed Robbery in Ibadan
Due to accusations of armed robbery, two individuals were placed under remand in a correctional facility by an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Wednesday.
The two people, Olamilekan Ridwan, 28, and Akanni Sodiq, 29, whose addresses are unknown, are accused of conspiring and armed robbery.
The defendants’ plea was rejected by Magistrate Olaolu Olanipekun for lack of jurisdiction.
In order to obtain legal counsel, Olanipekun instructed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

He then postponed the case’s mention until June 28.
According to the prosecutor, ASP Anthony Igori, the defendants committed the offences on February 27 at approximately nine o’clock at night in the Amuloko neighbourhood of Ibadan.
According to Igori, the two attacked Femi Daniel with jack knives, doused him in powdered pepper and took away his N450,000 motorbike.
According to him, the offences were against Nigeria’s Robbery and Firearms Laws, Section 1(2).
