According to Prof. Pat Utomi, leader of The BIG-TENT coalition of political parties, social movements, and civil society organizations, two former heads of state have backed Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, for the 2023 elections.

He contends that the LP has more advantageous infrastructure in place than other political parties to retake Nigeria from its oppressors.

The political economist and former director of the Lagos Business School, Utomi, made these remarks at a town hall gathering held by The BIG-TENT on Friday in Abuja as part of efforts to boost support for Obi, his running partner, Datti Ahmed, and the LP.

He said that opponents of “Obidients” will be startled by the outcome and that The BIG-TENT has strived to establish actual structures for Obi.

Money alone doesn’t win elections, added Utomi, who avoided naming the former state leaders. I’ve been informed by two previous leaders of a state that they are Obidients.

To guarantee that Obi and Baba-Ahmed win and retake our nation from those who have kept it down, many people want to join the (Obidient) movement without joining the Labour Party.

Compared to the People’s Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress, “The LP has better structures. Because they don’t grasp what a structure is, I kind of giggle when people talk about them. We must put an end to the criminal network of individuals who may manipulate elections; that is not the structure.

They will be startled by what they see since The BIG-TENT has toiled to construct actual structures. Numerous Peter Obi Support Groups have independent structures that are capable of winning these elections.
On election day, there will be 20 members of these organizations at each polling place.

“When people arrive at the voting places, things won’t be as normal. And since we are aware that they are intending to do things like that, they will meet us there with technology when they attempt to rig the Independent National Electoral Commission’s information technology.
