Abdulateef Olasunkanmi and Sunday Morice were charged on Wednesday with theft of a N130,000 cell phone in front of an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun.
Olasunkanmi, 18, and Morice, 28, are accused of stealing, assaulting someone, and conspiring; their addresses are withheld.
Prosecutor Insp. E.O. Adaraloye informed the court that the offences were committed at approximately 11:05 a.m. on June 12 in Arobilaye, Ota, by the defendants and other people who are currently at large.
According to Adaraloye, Olasunkanmi and Morice planned to beat Zinsu Joseph, the complainant, with fists.

He went on to say that the defendants had taken the complainant’s phone, which was worth N130,000, during the assault.
The prosecution claimed that the offence was in violation of Ogun, 2006’s Criminal Code Laws, Sections 390(9), 451 and 516.
The accused entered a not guilty plea to the accusation.
The accused were granted bail by Magistrate Mrs. O.O. Fadairo in the amount of N100,000 apiece, with two sureties each in an equivalent amount.
According to Fadairo, the sureties must be working in a gainful capacity, live within the court’s jurisdiction, and provide proof that they have paid their taxes to the state.
He postponed the case’s hearing until June 20.
