Chief Ugondo Uma, the traditional ruler of the Tiv ethnic group in Donga Council, confirmed the incident and condemned the attack as unprovoked.

He expressed his concern over the increasing frequency of such attacks in the Gbuo and Akinde villages, emphasizing that they have become a distressing pattern without adequate security measures in place.

Chief Uma highlighted that the attack occurred while farmers were engaged in their routine agricultural activities, underscoring the peaceful nature of the community.
