Two days before his wedding, man in Anambra was assassinated by gunmen
According to reports, unidentified gunmen have killed a man named Igwechukwu Charles Igweka from Ukpor in the Nnewi South Local Government Area.
According to reports, the man died just two days before his wedding, which was scheduled to take place on January 7.
In addition to attending a friend’s wedding and filming himself with wads of naira intended for his friend, the young man was said to have returned to Anambra from his camp to spend Christmas and New Year.
According to a source, “he drove out of his residence on Thursday night around 8 p.m. and was being pursued by shooters.”
He was shot in the hand while he was driving, yet he was still able to continue on his way before driving into a ditch.
“The gunmen caught up with him and inquired if he had completed running as he was struggling to emerge.” He was killed by point-blank fire from them.
According to the source, the man was buried on Friday since his family didn’t want to keep his body around for too long.
The man was scheduled to marry his wife on Saturday at her parents’ home in Otolo, Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area.
On social media, there have been videos of the man being pushed into a casket before his burial, as well as one where he claimed that he was attending his friend’s wedding.
The event was not confirmed by DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command.
