Trump claims that a win for Harris would lead to WWIII, sparking intense political debate and concern.
Former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump has claimed that if Kamala Harris wins the US presidential election, it could lead to “major wars” in the Middle East and even a potential third world war. He repeatedly accuses both Harris and current President Joe Biden of pushing the country towards a global conflict.
In anticipation of a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday, Trump made a pledge that if he were to reclaim the White House, the Israel/Hamas conflict would be resolved swiftly and successfully.
He warned that failure to act could result in significant conflict throughout the Middle East, and even a global war. He stated that at no point since World War II have we been so near to another world war due to incompetent leadership within our nation.
Since the commencement of Ukraine conflict in 2022, Trump has accused Biden and Harris of similar wrongdoing. He maintains that if he were still president, there would be no such strife and pledged to convene a peace talk between Moscow and Kiev within 24 hours upon winning November’s election.
After meeting with both Biden and Harris in Washington, Netanyahu went on to meet Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. Following her direct interaction with the Israeli premier, Harris informed journalists that she had conveyed her profound worry about the extent of anguish endured by humans residing in Gaza where a considerable number of innocent civilians have perished.
According to Axiom, an aide of Israeli prime minister Netanyahu claimed that Harris’ remarks were less critical than during the meeting and apparently angered him.
Throughout his tenure in the White House, Trump remained a steadfast supporter of Netanyahu and honored several requests from him including imposing sanctions on Iran, relocating the US Embassy within Israel to its western side while also facilitating peace negotiations which led to Abraham Accords. Consequently with this agreement; Bahrain, Morocco Sudan and United Arab Emirates normalized relations with Israel.
Nonetheless, the rapport between them deteriorated following Netanyahu’s acknowledgement of Biden as the victor in 2020 over Trump. “I haven’t communicated with [Netanyahu] thereafter,” disclosed Trump to Israeli journalist Barak Ravid near year-end.“To hell with him!”.
On Friday, prior to Trump and Netanyahu’s embrace on the steps of Mar-a-Lago, Trump advised Fox News that Israel needed to conclude their war in Gaza “quickly” due to being adversely impacted by media coverage. Furthermore, he expressed that Israel does not possess a strong public relations skillset.
The ex-president posted a letter on his platform Truth Social from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas earlier this week. In the letter, Abbas conveyed his hopes for Trump’s “strength and safety” after an assassination attempt against him in early January. To which Trump replied with gratitude saying that everything will be good soon enough. According to analysts, some speculate that sharing such letters could give the former president leverage over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
