Donald Trump pledges to end ongoing conflicts, stating his commitment to bringing peace and stability. Explore his vision and the impact of this bold promise on global diplomacy.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has informed his supporters, following a successful campaign for the US presidency, that he does not have an inclination towards initiating wars. The 45th, and potentially the 47th, president of the United States declared victory as projections indicated he was on track to secure over 270 electoral votes necessary for his return to the White House.

Trump asserted that his forthcoming administration would herald a new “golden age of America.”

While his victory speech primarily addressed domestic issues, Trump emphasized the necessity of maintaining “a strong and powerful military, and ideally, we should not have to utilize it.” During his first term from 2017 to 2021, he maintained that “we had no wars,” suggesting that the United States did not engage in any significant new military conflicts.

“In four years, we had no wars, except for the defeat of ISIS, which we accomplished in record time,” he stated, referencing the international military efforts against the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) in the Middle East.

“They claimed I would initiate a war. I will not start a war. I will end wars,” Trump remarked.

He has consistently asserted that he could resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine “in 24 hours” if elected, potentially even before officially taking office.

Although his administration did provide military aid to Ukraine prior to the escalation of the conflict, Trump was not in office when Moscow proposed a resolution to the rising tensions in December 2021.

Trump has not publicly disclosed his alleged strategy to resolve the Ukraine conflict. Reports suggest he plans to exert pressure on both Moscow and Kiev to compel concessions from each side.

The Russian government has stated that it would reject any resolution that merely maintains the status quo without addressing the fundamental issues at the heart of the conflict.
