Former President Trump has consented to be interviewed by the FBI regarding the ongoing investigation into an assassination attempt.

On Monday, the agency announced that Donald Trump has agreed to an interview with the FBI in regards to this month’s assassination attempt.

Earlier this month, the ex-president of the United States and Republican candidate for 2024 narrowly escaped death at a Pennsylvania rally when a bullet barely missed his ear. Unfortunately, one person in attendance lost their life while two others suffered injuries.

In a conference call with reporters, Kevin Rojek, the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Pittsburgh Field Office stated that they wish to obtain his viewpoint on what he witnessed just like any other person present at the crime scene. According to him, this is typical interrogation practice for someone who has been victimized by an offense.

The FBI has not yet determined the motive behind the shooting, even after more than a fortnight since it occurred.

On July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania while Trump was delivering a speech at an open-air venue, several gunshots were fired by Thomas Matthew Crooks who later got identified as a twenty-year-old gunman.

According to Rojek, even though the FBI investigation has not identified a motive yet, it is their belief that the subject put in considerable effort to hide his actions.

According to an FBI official, the agency holds that Crooks’ conduct reflects “meticulous premeditation before the campaign rally”. The same source pointed out that Crooks has a narrow social sphere consisting primarily of his immediate relatives and that he has made very few friends or acquaintances throughout his lifespan.

According to Rojek, the individual who intended to carry out an assassination had utilized various false names in order to acquire tools such as firearms and explosives. Additionally, Crooks made six purchases of chemical precursors online earlier this year which were directly linked to the materials found within both their vehicle and residence.
