Donald Trump wins the presidential election, marking a significant political comeback. Read about the factors leading to his victory and what this means for the future of the nation.
Former President Donald Trump has been reported by leading US media outlets to have secured a second term in office, following confirmation from officials in Wisconsin that the Republican candidate has emerged victorious in the state.
This victory has awarded Trump ten electoral college votes, surpassing the crucial threshold of 270. He declared his triumph a few hours prior, expressing confidence that he would also prevail in the popular vote once all ballots are counted.
Wisconsin was identified as a pivotal battleground state in this election cycle, with the potential to swing in favor of either candidate. The outcomes in several of these swing states are instrumental in determining the overall election winner. According to the nation’s electoral system, all electoral votes from a state are allocated to the candidate who wins that state.

Trump previously won Wisconsin in 2016 against Hillary Clinton but lost it in 2020 to Joe Biden. Both he and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris placed significant emphasis on the state during their respective campaigns.
Harris, currently serving as vice president in the Biden administration, is anticipated to address her supporters later today.
Numerous leaders have already extended their congratulations to Trump, including British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, among others.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday that he is unaware of any plans by President Vladimir Putin to congratulate Trump. He characterized the US as “a deeply unfriendly nation that is directly and indirectly involved in a war against our state.”
