Donald Trump Jr. accuses the military-industrial complex of driving the world toward a global conflict, urging restraint and diplomacy.

Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of US President-elect Donald Trump, has criticized what he calls war-mongering ‘imbeciles’ in response to reports that outgoing President Joe Biden has authorized Ukraine to use American-made long-range missiles for strikes deep within Russian territory.

Donald Trump Jr., who campaigned with his father in the 2024 presidential election and has been assisting him in selecting members for his prospective cabinet, was direct on social media.

“The Military Industrial Complex seems determined to start World War 3 before my father can create peace and save lives,” he wrote on X Sunday. “They need to secure those trillions of dollars, regardless of the cost in human life. Imbeciles!”

The Biden administration had earlier limited Ukraine’s use of ATACMS missiles due to concerns about potential Russian retaliation. However, according to several news agencies, the White House has now chosen to change this policy. Both the White House and the Pentagon have not provided any comments on this issue.

The reported decision is largely viewed as a final attempt to enhance Ukraine’s military strength before Trump takes office on January 20. Throughout his re-election campaign, Trump questioned the need for unconditional aid to Kiev and pledged to address the conflict through diplomacy. His anticipated return to the White House has led Democrats, along with officials in Ukraine and the EU, to fear that this new administration might forsake Ukraine.

Moscow has consistently expressed that the use of Western weapons deep within Russian territory would indicate NATO’s direct participation in the conflict. President Vladimir Putin had earlier cautioned that Russia would make “appropriate decisions in response to such threats.”
