U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump expressed regret over his departure from the White House following his 2020 loss to Joe Biden, while reiterating his belief that the elections were “stolen.”
During a campaign rally in Lititz, Pennsylvania on Sunday, just two days ahead of the election, the former president criticized current leadership by saying that under an “incompetent group of fools,” the U.S. had become “a failed country.”

He accused Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate, of being incapable of stopping the influx of illegal migrants over the Mexican border.
“We had the most secure border in our country’s history when I departed,” Trump remarked. “I really shouldn’t have left, considering how well we did.”
Trump criticized the Democratic Party by calling it a “corrupt machine” and asserted that election integrity could only be ensured if U.S. states use paper ballots exclusively and mandate voter IDs. He remarked, “In California, you are not even allowed to ask for a voter ID. They are doing this solely because they want to cheat.”
Trump has consistently denied losing the 2020 election, even after courts found no evidence of extensive voter fraud. He eventually relinquished his role as president following an incident where a group of his supporters stormed the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, temporarily halting the certification process for Biden’s win.
