The outgoing US president pleaded with his successor to put an end to the “insanity” of war.

The US administration is “dragging us further toward World War Three” by delivering Kiev cluster bombs, former US president Donald Trump warned on Tuesday.

On his Truth Social platform, President Joe Biden “should be trying to end the war and stop the horrific death and destruction being caused by an incompetent administration,” according to a statement made by Donald Trump.

On both humanitarian and strategic reasons, the 45th US president opposed the use of cluster munitions, pointing out that unexploded ordnance “will be killing and maiming innocent Ukrainian men, women, and children for decades to come,” long after the war has finished.

Trump also criticized Biden for saying that cluster munitions were being supplied because the US was out of conventional 155mm artillery shells in an interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria over the weekend. If this is accurate, said Trump, it “only further emphasizes the urgency of immediately deescalating this bloody, dangerous, and out of control conflict.”

The former president continued, saying that Biden’s policy of “endless war” in Ukraine had “tremendously weakened” the US. “It certainly means we should not be sending Ukraine our last stockpiles at a time when our own arsenals, according to Crooked Joe Biden, are so perilously diminished,” he said.

“Joe Biden is needlessly and perilously guiding us toward a third World War, which would be an unimaginable nightmare—obliteration!” Added Trump.

Trump promised to create “peace through strength” after he is re-elected to government following the next election. Trump is presently in the lead in the polls for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

Last Monday, the White House declared that it will send artillery shells with dual-purpose enhanced conventional munitions (DPICM) to Ukraine. According to Colin Kahl, Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, a Russian victory in the battle would be considerably worse than the threat that the munitions, which are prohibited in more than 100 nations, pose to civilians. Additionally, he charged Russia with using the weaponry in Ukraine.

The US accusations have been refuted by Moscow. According to Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, if any US cluster munitions reach Ukraine, the Russian military would retaliate with “much more effective” and “diverse” similar weaponry.

The UN, NATO allies like the UK, Canada, and Spain, as well as members of Biden’s own party in the US House of Representatives, have all denounced the US offer of cluster munitions.

Cluster bombs are either harmful or they are not. According to who is being destroyed by a cluster bomb, you cannot assess its value, said comedian and podcast host Russell Brand on Tuesday.
