Former President Donald Trump asserts that he was Queen Elizabeth II’s ‘favorite president,’ a statement drawing attention and sparking reactions from various quarters, according to the Daily Mail.

Donald Trump, the ex-president of United States, claimed that he maintained a strong bond with Queen Elizabeth II despite allegations suggesting otherwise in Craig Brown’s book “A Voyage Around the Queen.” During an interview with Daily Mail on Wednesday, The Republican leader referred to Craig as a ‘sleazebag’ who is most likely seeking publicity for probably his fake-written work.

During his time in office, Trump had the opportunity to meet with the late monarch twice. The initial encounter took place back in 2018 when she hosted a casual tea for him and his wife. Subsequently, he was invited back the following year where he attended an extravagant state banquet; however, it was noted by observers that various instances of royal protocol were disregarded during this visit.

According to The Daily Mail, the 78-year-old claimed that Queen expressed her fondness towards President Trump by saying “He is my favorite president” in front of their mutual friends.

The ex-president proceeded to describe his association with the deceased British monarch as “excellent” and “incredible.”

Recalling the time they spent together at a state dinner, he asserted that both of them had developed an affection for each other.

Trump accused the author of the biography of purposely tarnishing his reputation with completely fabricated accusations in an effort to advance their own publication.

According to the book, Queen Elizabeth II reportedly regarded Trump as impolite and expressed her dislike towards his behavior of scrutinizing over her shoulder, as if seeking a more captivating company.

According to “A Voyage Around the Queen,” it is stated that the monarch believed Trump must have had some kind of agreement with his wife Melania, since she would not have stayed married to him otherwise.

During his UK trip in July 2018, Trump and the first lady had tea with Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle. Upon meeting her, he praised the monarch as an outstanding individual who possesses intelligence and sharpness along with a great amount of energy.

Observers were quick to note numerous instances where Trump had violated etiquette, including his failure to properly greet the Queen by omitting a bow. Additionally, Melania neglected to perform a traditional “small curtsy.” Though not mandatory, such actions are viewed as polite and anticipated of officials visiting the royal family.

During the meeting, Trump exhibited impolite behavior by walking ahead of the Queen and inspecting the royal guard with his back turned towards her.
