Former President Donald Trump alleges that the recent debate was ‘rigged,’ accusing organizers of bias and unfair treatment, further fueling political tensions ahead of the election.

Donald Trump, the previous President of the United States, has denounced ABC News’ moderation as “dishonest” during his debate against Vice President Kamala Harris. He stated that he would solely contemplate a rematch if it were managed by an impartial network.

Following Tuesday’s debate, Trump spoke with Sean Hannity on Fox and confidently stated that he had won. When told by Hannity that Harris was pushing for another round of debates, Trump appeared uninterested in the suggestion.

“If it was a fair network, I might consider giving her another chance because as the saying goes, once you’re a prizefighter and lose, you yearn for redemption,” Trump shared with Hannity about her desire for a rematch.

It is widely believed that Harris emerged as the winner of the debate, while Trump struggled to defend himself against attacks from both his opponent and moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis. CNN conducted a flash poll on Tuesday night which showed that 63% of viewers thought Harris had outperformed Trump.

On Wednesday morning, while talking to Fox News, Trump criticized the debate by saying that it was “totally rigged” and labeled ABC as the “most dishonest news organization.”

During an interview with Fox, he expressed that numerous statements made by him were proven to be false while anything she said was accepted without question. He believed his assertions were accurate but they would still find ways to refute them.

During the debate, Muir and Davis frequently interrupted Trump to correct his statements. One such instance was when he alleged that Haitian migrants in Ohio were consuming people’s pets. Although some residents have claimed that these individuals are eating cats and wild birds, there have been no official reports of this from local law enforcement agencies.

Harris made unsubstantiated claims about Trump’s association with ‘Project 2025′, a conservative plan which the former president has distanced himself from, without being fact-checked. Additionally, Harris falsely stated that Trump referred to neo-Nazis as “fine people”, but wasn’t corrected. In reality, during a right-wing rally in Charlottesville in 2017, Trump commented on there being “very fine people on both sides” but clarified he was not referring to the white nationalists and neo-Nazis who should be condemned unequivocally.

Trump told Fox on Wednesday that he would be less eager to participate in another debate as they had a fantastic night. He reiterated, “We emerged victorious from the debate.”

At first, Trump proposed three debates to Harris: a Fox News one on September 4th, an ABC one set for September 10th and the third hosted by NBC News but without any fixed date yet. However, Harris’ team only approved of participating in the ABC debate while Trump hesitated about committing due to his allegation that this network exhibited “absurd and partial” reporting towards him.
