Donald Trump meets with House Republicans to discuss crucial matters ahead of his upcoming meeting with President Joe Biden, setting the stage for critical political negotiations.

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump arrives in Washington for his meeting with outgoing President Joe Biden today.

Trump has appointed Elon Musk and Republican Vivek Ramaswamy to jointly lead the newly established “Department of Government Efficiency.”

Our correspondent David Willis reports that Trump claims the body, which primarily serves an advisory role, will “dismantle government bureaucracy.”

Pete Hegseth, a Fox News host and Army veteran, has been chosen as the defense secretary, while John Ratcliffe is set to lead the CIA. According to Anthony Zurcher, these selections indicate how Trump’s second term might be forming.

And the Republicans are nearing a majority in the House of Representatives.

This morning, Donald Trump was met with a standing ovation from his Republican colleagues in Washington.

The president-elect kicked off his speech with, “Winning feels great. It always does.”

He elaborated on his “historic” victory, noting that he secured the popular vote by a margin of 7.1 million and triumphed in all seven battleground states.
