Troost-Ekong calls on the Super Eagles to reflect on past mistakes as they gear up for the AFCON 2025 qualifier, aiming for stronger performances.
In preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against Republic of Benin and Rwanda, Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has advised his teammates to reference their previous errors as a means of improvement.
Both matches won’t be easy for Nigeria, as stated by the ex-Watford defender.
According to Troost-Ekong, “Good teams encounter challenging times and we will be better prepared for them. This is my belief.” He shared this with Victor Modo’s YouTube channel.

As previously mentioned, we are now better equipped to handle the situation and our motivation has even increased.
It won’t be a cakewalk facing Benin and Rwanda away, but we must take cues from our past mistakes. Despite the challenge ahead, I trust my team’s abilities to gear up for these games in the most optimal manner possible.
