Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong has expressed his preference for a local coach to lead the Super Eagles, emphasizing the importance of having someone who understands the culture of the country, players, and the daily routine.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is yet to appoint a permanent head coach for the team following Jose Peseiro’s departure in February, with former international Emmanuel Amuneke and two expatriates, Domenec Torrent, and Antonio Conceicao, reportedly being considered for the role.
During a radio program on Eagles FM, Nigeria football legend Segun Odegbami asked Troost-Ekong about his choice for the new coach, to which the center-back expressed his belief that a local tactician would be the ideal candidate.
