Troops, Vigilantes Neutralize Two Bandits in Zamfara Forest Operation
Nigerian troops, in collaboration with local vigilantes, successfully neutralized two bandits during a raid on a hideout in Zamfara forest as part of ongoing security efforts.
Troops from Forward Operating Base Anka, affiliated with the 1 Brigade of Joint Task Force North West’s Operation Hadarin Daji, have teamed up with the Zamfara State Community Protection Guard (ZSCPG) and local vigilantes to execute a combat patrol in Bambaran Village within Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
A report by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama states that the joint security team encountered bandits during their operation, leading to a firefight in which two of the bandits were neutralized.
The items recovered included a PKT machine gun, an AK-47 rifle, one magazine, and three rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.
The report highlighted the importance of this operation, stressing the continuous cooperation between the military and other security agencies in Operation Hadarin Daji Theatre.
This initiative is part of wider efforts to strengthen security in Zamfara State and the broader North West region.
