Troops take down 212 terrorists and detain 252 others within two weeks
The Defence Headquarters reported that within the last two weeks, troops deployed across the country successfully eliminated 212 criminals and apprehended 252 others.

Additionally, they managed to detain 29 individuals involved in oil theft and rescued a total of 244 kidnap victims.
During a briefing held at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, March 28, the Director Defence Media Operations, Maj Gen Edward Buba, disclosed these significant achievements.
He highlighted that the troops were able to seize a total of 223 assorted weapons and 2,756 assorted ammunition during their operations.
Among the weapons recovered were various firearms such as M56 rifles, AK47 rifles, PKT guns, locally fabricated guns, dane guns, pistols, hand grenades, and explosives.
The ammunition retrieved included rounds of different calibers, live cartridges, magazines, and other related items.
Additionally, the troops confiscated vehicles, motorcycles, mobile phones, and a substantial amount of money.
Furthermore, in the Niger Delta region, the troops successfully recovered a substantial quantity of stolen crude oil, illegally refined diesel, and kerosene.
They also located and destroyed numerous dugout pits, boats, storage tanks, vehicles, cooking ovens, pumping machines, and illegal refining sites.
This operation resulted in the confiscation of a significant amount of stolen resources and the dismantling of key infrastructure used in illegal activities.
Maj Gen Edward Buba emphasized the military’s commitment to maintaining the momentum of their successful operations, citing recent hostage rescues in Sokoto and Kaduna States as examples of their strategic approach to addressing security challenges.
He underscored the importance of understanding the complexities of the situation and ensuring the safety of all involved in these operations.
