Troops successfully save 13 kidnapped individuals in Zamfara

In their ceaseless pursuit of ongoing clearance and offensive operations, troops of Joint Task Force North West Operation Hadarain Daji, OPHD, have freed thirteen kidnapped victims from Zamfara State’s Maru Local Government Area.

According to a statement made by Captain Ibrahim Yahaya, the spokesman for OPHD, the forces in Zamfara State successfully freed 13 abducted victims and detained 11 alleged logistical suppliers of a well-known terrorist mastermind.

In the Maru Local Government Area of the state, on December 17, 2023, the combined troops of OPHD initiated a search and rescue operation along the Gobirawan Chali and Dangulbi areas of the Dansadau axis. During this operation, they rescued 13 kidnapped victims who had been left behind by the terrorists who had fled in the late hours of Sunday.

“All of the rescued victims are from the state’s Maru Local Government Area; they are currently receiving medical attention and being briefed. They are from the village of Mutunji in the Dansadau Emirate.

“The Zamfara State Government representative will receive all of the rescued victims and work to reunite them with their relatives as soon as feasible.

“The tenacious forces also destroyed a well-known terrorist hideaway at Gidan Jaja in the State’s Zurmi Local Government Area. Similarly, at Kwanar Boko in the Zurmi Local Government Area of the State, the OPHD forces detained 11 alleged terrorists’ logistics providers who provide logistics to a well-known terrorist, Halilu Sububu.

The terrorist boss Halilu Sububu owned two Canter trucks carrying 127 bags of grain when the suspects were apprehended. The suspects that were apprehended are being questioned in an initial capacity.
