Six alleged members of IPOB/ESN, the Indigenous People of Biafra, and their branch, the Eastern Security Network, have been neutralised by Joint Taskforce ‘Operation UDO KA’ troops in the Igboro Forest, Arochukwu Local Government Area, Abia State.
The clearance operation was carried out, according to the Army, to retrieve weapons and ammunition from the terrorist group IPOB/ESN as well as to capture those responsible for the May 30 attack on troops at Aba.
The successful raid was carried out on June 8, according to a statement from the Taskforce made on Sunday in Enugu by Lt.-Col. Jonah Unuakhalu.
Unuakhalu reported that troops came across improvised explosive devices (IEDs) along their axis of progress during the intelligence-led operation, and one soldier was slightly injured by a piece.

Six members of the criminal terrorist organisation were neutralised as a result of the terrorists’ weak battle being sufficiently suppressed by superior firepower, while other members managed to flee into nearby bushes with varied degrees of bullet wounds, leaving bloodstains visible along their escape routes.
The brave soldiers found two locally made artillery guns with tripods and bombs, as well as three locally made rocket-propelled grenade launchers.
Dane weapons, Biafran banners, and Toyota Tundra and Hilux automobiles that were set ablaze right away were among the other goods found.
He added, “All of their camps with various inscriptions were destroyed.”
