16 people were saved by Operation Forest Sanity personnel during operations on the Birnin Gwari-Kaduna Road and at a location in the Igabi LGA.
This was revealed in a statement released on Tuesday by Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner, Kaduna State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs.
He said that the soldiers were informed that the victims were saved when they reacted to a distress call on the Birnin Gwari-Kaduna Road’s Udawa-Manini axis.

In a related operation, troops responded to a call for help in the Gonan Doctor village, Igabi LGA, and set up a surprise ambush at a likely crossing point in the Maraban Huda village. They neutralised one bandit there, and they also freed an injured kidnapping victim, whom they then took to the Jaji Cantonment Hospital for treatment.
The soldiers also found 10 motorcycles, an improvised explosive device, an AK-47 rifle, a pump-action revolver, and a Baofeng radio. The declaration said
