Troops Neutralize Two Bandits in Kaduna Operation

Under Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), security forces have neutralized two suspected bandits and rescued four kidnapped individuals during an operation in the Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The intervention was initiated following a distress call received on February 14 at around 8:30 p.m., indicating an attack on travelers along the Kafanchan-Kwoi road close to Afana Daji village.
According to a source, the troops quickly reacted and succeeded in rescuing one victim who had suffered gunshot injuries.
Based on reliable intelligence, the troops initiated an offensive operation on February 15 at approximately 4 p.m. in the Angwan Rimi Forest. There, they engaged in a gunfight with the kidnappers, resulting in two of the assailants being neutralized during the exchange.
The area search led to the discovery of an AK-47 rifle, an AK-47 magazine, eight rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, ten mobile phones, food supplies, and ₦1,136,000 in cash.
The last three hostages, Mr. Mathew Ayemowa, Mr. Tunde Salam, and Mr. Mustapha Mohammed, were successfully rescued.
