The Imo State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has affirmed the victory of Hope Uzodimma from the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the governor of Imo State.
The tribunal, based in Abuja, also rejected the petition filed by the Labour Party (LP) and its governorship candidate, Athan Achonu.
Justice Oluyemi Akintan-Osadebay, delivering the unanimous decision on behalf of the three-man panel, stated that Uzodimma’s election adhered to the provisions of the Electoral Act.
Additionally, the tribunal concluded that the Labour Party failed to provide sufficient evidence to support their claims of over-voting and non-compliance with the Electoral Act.
