Trial of man who accused Fashola of writing PEPC’s judgments commences by Federal Government

The Federal Government has initiated legal proceedings against Ibezim Chike Victor, who is accused of being responsible for certain publications that alleged the former works and housing minister authored the judgments of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) dismissing the petitions by the Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Victor, along with two other individuals, has been brought before a Federal High Court in Abuja and is facing charges including criminal conspiracy, cyberstalking, and defamation.

The case is currently being heard by Justice Bolaji Olajuwon and has been adjourned until April 15 for the continuation of the trial.

The charges against Victor and the others involve the publication of defamatory statements and false allegations against Babatunde Raji Fashola, the former minister, on the online platform reportera.ng.

These actions are deemed to be in violation of the Cyber-crime Prohibition, Prevention Act 2015.
