Treasury Chief Edun reveals that President Tinubu is set to present a new whistleblowing policy to the National Assembly soon, aiming to enhance transparency and accountability in governance.
The whistleblowing policy is expected to be presented by President Bola Tinubu for legislative action at the National Assembly in the near future.
Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, made this statement.
During a meeting titled “Implementing the whistle-blowing policy in Nigeria: issues, challenges and the way forward,” he revealed this information on Wednesday in Abuja.
According to Edun, the Nigerian government is counting on the cooperation of citizens to ensure that the policy effectively promotes transparency and accountability.
According to the minister, it is incumbent upon us to uphold the provisions of this policy that offer protection and back those who step forward for public interest.

According to the minister, the implementation of a whistleblowing policy is one component in the government’s effort to promote integrity within public institutions throughout the country.
Furthermore, he stated that by implementing this policy, public institutions will be held responsible to the Nigerian populace who have been authorized to act as vigilant overseers of all activities taking place in the public sphere.
