Early on Friday morning within the Niger State Printing Press premises in Minna, an unnamed guy attempted to steal transformer cables and was electrocuted.
The man’s corpse was discovered Friday morning by some printing press employees hanging from the transformer, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Aminu Ubandoma, the head of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company’s (AEDC) legal division, verified the occurrence to newsmen.
Several reports of transformer vandalism, he claimed, had been made to the firm.
He stated that the business was collaborating with law enforcement, particularly the police, to ensure that the rate of transformer vandalism was kept to a bare minimum.
The event was also confirmed by DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the Niger Police Command’s spokeswoman, who stated that a complaint of a possible electrocution/vandalism incident was received at around 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
The body of a male adult, who has not yet been recognised, was discovered at a transformer with a cable cutter and some damaged cables, he claimed. The incident took place near the old secretariat area at the printing press premises.
The possibility of electrocution was raised.
According to Abiodun, the Morris patrol team transported the body to General Hospital Minna, where it was determined the patient had passed away.
As the incident was being investigated in conjunction with AEDC, he said that efforts were still being made to find the deceased’s relative. (NAN)
