Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali will not rejoin Chippa United, according to goalie coach Sean Louw.
Since making waves for Nigeria in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, Nwabali’s future with the South African team has been in doubt.
He was instrumental in helping Chippa get to the Nedbank Cup semifinal and record a perfect 12 clean sheets across all competitions after the team was defeated by the hosts, Ivory Coast, in the AFCON final.
It’s official now that Louw believes the 27-year-old won’t be playing for the team next season.

“I’m not sure how many offers he has received in written copy, but orally, he’s had perhaps ten or even twelve. He would most certainly not return to Chippa for the upcoming season, Louw told FarPost.
“[Nwabali] couldn’t play from the back because of his poor footing when he first got to Chippa. But he’s made a big improvement to his footwork.
